불과 얼음

 

  

    불과 얼음

세상이 불로 끝장난다는 사람도 있고

얼음으로 끝장난다는 사람도 있다.

내가 욕망을 맛본 바로는

불을 택한 사람들에 공감이 간다

 

허나 세상이 두 번 망해야 한다면

증오에 대해 나도 알만큼 아는지라

파멸을 위해선 얼음 역시

대단히 쓸모 있고 충분하리라 여겨진다.

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

 

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.
